The Toyota Fortuner receive a facelift, upgraded safety features, more power and a
new 2.8 GD-6 VX as the new flagship model.
Since the Toyota Fortuner was introduced to the South African market in 2006, it has
been one of the most popular vehicles in its segment.
Firstly, you will notice the new wide blacked-out grille with silver accented trim on
either side. The new auto-levelling LED headlights features daytime running lights
paired with LED turn-signal elements and LED fog lamps in the lower bumper area.
The side profile of the VX variant is enhanced with a thin chrome belt-line extending
to the rear.
The New Toyota Fortuner also features new rear lights.
The 2.8 GD-6 variants showcases alloy wheels with a metallic turbine design,
hosting 265/60/R18 tyres.

After customer feedback, Toyota made the shift to a black interior from the previous
dark brown leather upholstery.
Metallic-blue dial faces and white needle pointers
form part of the newly designed instrument cluster.
You will also notice the all new 20cm infotainment system with Android Auto and
Apple CarPlay functionality which allows the user to mirror applications off their
smartphones.
Arguably the most exciting update is the new enhanced 2.8 GD-6 engine, now
delivering 150kW and 500Nm. The six speed automatic transmission is also updated
to improve towing and acceleration performance.
The New Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD-6 4x4 model now has a towing capability of 3.3
tonnes. (An increase of 800kg.) The 2.8 GD-6 4x4 model also has a towing capacity
of 3.3 tonnes, showing a 300kg increase.

The New Fortuner 2.4 models are now available with LED headlights and Park
Distance Control (PDC) as standard.
The new VX model is now available with driver and passenger heated seats, lane
departure alert, road sign recognition, cruise control and the Toyota Safety Sense
system that integrates a pre-collision system.
